Chicken Burgers

A tasty chicken burger perfect for topping with your favourite salad ingredients.

  • Carrots
  • 1 medium grated
  • Fresh parsley
  • Small handful
  • Garlic
  • 1 1/2 cloves crushed
  • Salt-reduced soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp
  • Onion powder
  • 1/2 tbsp
  • Breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp
  • Wholemeal bread rolls
  • 1 per person
  • Lettuce
  • to serve
  • Grated carrot
  • to serve
  • Cheese slices
  • to serve
  • Mayonnaise
  • to serve

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 170 C.
  2. Place all the chicken burger ingredients into a bowl and mix well to combine. With damp hands form into evenly sized burgers.
  3. Place the chicken burgers on an oven tray and bake for 25 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Tear into pieces the size of the roll.
  5. Peel and grate carrots.
  6. Spread 1 tablespoon mayonnaise on the base of each bread roll, add the lettuce, grated carrot, followed by the burger and cheese and top with the lid of roll.

Try the following salad ingredients: Beetroot, cucumber, pineapple and/ or spinach!
