School Lunch Pilot

In Term 4, 2020 The Tasmanian School Canteen Association (now School Food Matters) received funding from Healthy Tasmania to give three Tasmanian schools financial and practical support to provide healthy, cooked lunches for 20 days for up to 60    students.  Students, parents, canteen managers and volunteers, principals, teachers and support staff gave feedback on the School Lunch Pilot through interviews, discussion groups and survey format.  The Menzies Institute’s Dr Kylie Smith developed an evaluation report in response to this Pilot Program.

Food Van

Our Food Van is up and running! As seen in the pictures the van is getting to events around the state. This project is a joint venture between School Food Matters and Families Tasmania’s Family Food Patch Program. It will be used as a mobile community kitchen, a pop up canteen and will be used to cook delicious food at events around Tasmania.

We are very excited about what opportunities this resource is going to bring to each of our organisations out in the communities.
