- Promote and provide nutritious foods
- Use plenty of fruit and vegetables in meals and snacks
- Provide snacks that protect teeth: cheese, vegetables, yoghurt, wholegrain options
- Reduce the foods you offer that are high in added sugars, fats and salt
- Cook from scratch where possible – you know exactly what goes in
- Make water, especially fluoridated tap water, readily available. It’s free and protects teeth from dental decay.
- Offer plain milk, not flavoured milk
- Limit the frequency of sugary foods and drinks
- Reduce or remove sticky foods on the menu – roll-ups, dried fruit, biscuits
