  • Promote and provide nutritious foods
  • Use plenty of fruit and vegetables in meals and snacks
  • Provide snacks that protect teeth: cheese, vegetables, yoghurt, wholegrain options
  • Reduce the foods you offer that are high in added sugars, fats and salt
  • Cook from scratch where possible – you know exactly what goes in
  • Make water, especially fluoridated tap water, readily available. It’s free and protects teeth from dental decay.
  • Offer plain milk, not flavoured milk
  • Limit the frequency of sugary foods and drinks
  • Reduce or remove sticky foods on the menu – roll-ups, dried fruit, biscuits
