Celebrating our 2026 Julie Dunbabin Award nominees
The nominations are in for the 2026 Julie Dunbabin Food Culture Evolution Award, and they have highlighted the incredible work happening across Australian schools.
This year, we received 30 nominations celebrating 19 schools:

Each nomination shared a different story of food culture evolving within a school; from students growing, cooking and sharing food to lunch times becoming places of connection and belonging.
The quality of this year’s nominations made it clear that positive school food culture is about much more than what is served. It is about learning, leadership, inclusion, connection and creating experiences that can shape students’ relationships with food for life.
